Heather Russell

Executive Director

The Executive Director’s role is to lead the Family Council by developing goals, maintaining focus, coordinating its work and providing follow-through to optimize performance; convene and moderate discussion in Family Council meetings and in Graves Family Community meetings, and develop conclusions, decisions, and actions; act as a liaison and spokesperson for the Family Council as a non-voting member of the GRI Business Board and serve as the primary conduit for communication to the Graves Family Community from all others.

Communications Chair

The Communications Committee is charged with establishing and continually re-evaluating goals for the Graves Family Community with regard to communication; contributing to budget planning for the Family Council; maintaining and updating a family registry and the family tree; collecting and disseminating information on a regular basis; and designing instruments for sustainable communication through the Graves Family Community.

Emily Dreier

Next Generation Chair

The Next Generation Preparation Committee is charged with establishing and continually re-evaluating goals for the Graves Family Community with regard to telling the story of the Graves Family Community, assuring family citizenship in future generations, and grooming future family leadership; contributing to budget planning for the Family Council; collaborating with the Nominating Congress to mentor possible future family leadership; documenting and preserving the stories of the Graves Family Community.

Reunion Chairs

The Reunion/Gatherings Committee is charged with establishing and continually re-evaluating goals for the Graves Family Community with regard to planning and executing reunions and other gatherings; contributing to budget planning for the Family Council; assessing the current reunion planning system, and evaluating possible changes to our current system (location selection, centralized planning, frequency of reunions, etc); maintaining a database of information on previous reunions (lessons learned, numbers data, cost of different facilities, etc.); conducting post-reunion evaluations for future planning.

Giving Chair

The Giving Committee is charged with establishing and continually re-evaluating goals for the Graves Family Community with regard to education loans, philanthropy, and new programs or efforts; contributing to budget planning for the Family Council; establishing and implementing an application process, a disbursement process, and a loan repayment process for education loans; establishing and implementing an application process, a disbursement process, and a reporting process for philanthropic grants; in consultation with the GRI Business Board, researching the feasibility of a micro-finance program to support business ventures and entrepreneurial efforts; fostering Graves Family Community participation in philanthropic endeavors.
